Medical & Health Committee


The Medical & Health Committee of Bhavan’s Vivekananda College, Sanikpuri since its constitution has been working with the objective to increase the health awareness and provide health care services to the benefit of staff and students on a regular basis.Conducting dental camps, eye camps, diabetic camps, diagnostic camps, health talks and doctors’ consultations is the regular activity of the committee where in large number of students and staff take benefit. Often local community also will be made as beneficiaries of these facilities. During COVID-19 pandemic, the committee has taken special interest in providing an interim guidance to the staff and students of the college to prevent spread of infection. The committee had monitored all the sanitization measures implemented during conduct of examinations and ensured to instill a safe environment in the campus for both staff and students and continuing in doing so. The committee overall has been working for promotion of better health practices in the campus.


Objective:

The Medical and Health Committee should encourage the well-being and health of students and staff. To promote the health awareness and provide health care services to the benefit of staff and students on a regular basis.


Functions:

  • Organize various health awareness programs, workshops, and seminars on topics such as mental health, nutrition, physical fitness, and general well-being.
  • Encourage students and staff to monitor their health status by arranging health camps in collaboration with healthcare providers, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Providing first aid training sessions for students and faculty to equip them with the basic skills needed in case of medical emergencies.
  • Promote healthy habits and lifestyle choices among students and staff, which could involve promoting exercise, healthy eating, stress management, and overall wellness.
  • To maintain first aid medical kit in the college and safe drinking water supply.
  • Planning and executing health-related events and campaigns like health fairs, blood donation drives, and health-related contests to engage the college community.
  • Acting as a platform for students to voice their health-related concerns and suggestions for improvements in the campus health services.
  • Collecting and analyzing health-related data to identify prevalent health issues among the student body, enabling the committee to address these concerns effectively.
  • Develop awareness about knowledge, skills and positive attitudes to make health an asset valued by the students and staff.
